(Gen 15:1 KJV) Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. (John 12:15 KJV) Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt. (Mat 10:28 KJV) And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Mat 10:31 KJV) Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:32 KJV) Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Acts 27:24 KJV) Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. (Rev 1:17-18 KJV) And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
(Luke 12:4-7 KJV) And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
(Luke 12:22-34 KJV) And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
(Psalms 91:1 KJV) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Dwelleth is one that lives and walks with the Lord!
Secret place of the most high is an intimate place of divine protection!
So if you are living and walking with the Lord you are IN A Secret Place!
(Psalms 91:2 KJV) I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Say is to speak! Are you speaking God's word into your situation?
Refuge is a safe place...free from danger, harm and trouble!
Fortress is a stronghold; a fortied place!
Fortfify is to make strong!
Trust is to believe in someone or something!
The writer of this text is saying that the Lord is his safe place. (refuge)
Because he believes God's word (trusts God's word) he understands that no matter what is going on around him, he is free from all danger, harm and trouble! The Lord is his stronghold, his fortified place; (fortress) The Lord is his strength, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically! His trust is in the Lord!
(Psalms 91:3 KJV) Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence
Surely is to have confidence to be without a doubt (assurance).
Deliver is to set free or to hand something over (a mailman deliver's your mail) He hands your mail over to you!
Snare is a gin....which is a trap!
Fowler is a hunter of birds (prey)
Noisome means fatal....able to cause death.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary says that Pestilence is a contagious or infectious epidemic disease that is virulent and devastating;
The writer is saying with confidence (surely)..that God is going to free him from the traps (snares) of the hunter (fowler) He is confident that the fiery darts that are being fired at him are not fatal. There is no epidemic! There is no virus! There is no devastation! The hunter...fowler (satan) wants you to believe that but it is not so! God will not hand you over to the traps of the enemy but He will deliver you...set you free! You are in a intimate place of divine protection! A Secret Place and no weapons formed against you shall prosper!
(2 Tim 1:8 KJV) Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
